Aaron and I walked the length of 6th street on Halloween, after I got out of work. Aaron, if you haven't met him, is awesome. Aaron: I kind of don't like wearing costumes. Me: Why? Aaron: Because if something bad happens to you, it's so much worse if you're in a costume. Me: You're such a pessimist. later: We see a guy in a skimpy dress and wings on a bike. He takes a spill (he is probably drunk) and then gets up and picks up his bike and gets back on. Aaron: See! It's worse!
In class on Tuesday, Ernie gave a presentation about someone who had done initial research on colorblindness. "Some of you in the class can't see this," he said of an image on his powerpoint similar to this one http://www.d.umn.edu/cla/faculty/troufs/anth4616/images/colorblind1.jpg. Afterwards, Ernie sat down next to Sean (his roommate, who is colorblind). Sean: *comically sullen* great presentation. Ernie: Yeah. Hey, remember that time you came in and I was eating twizzlers and I convinced you they were a new green apple flavor? And you believed me? Sean: Yes.
What were your favorite classes you ever took, in college or otherwise? |

I just realized there are like, no pictures of Sarah and I together. Besides the other ones I posted. But this one is groovy.

We like to grin like idiots to each other for long periods of time.

So I went to bed at 2 last night, then woke up at 6 to give Meaghan a ride to the airport (she's the one with me in one of those pictures I posted of the party, with just the two of us). Fell back asleep for a bit though, at least.
Anyway, I can't remember if I said anything on here about it yet, but I officially have a gallery showing at my original venue of choice, Caffé Medici, West Lynn location.

I've been going there for coffee almost 3-4 times a week, mainly just to become recognized there by the staff and even the regulars. One of the guys I met, Ché, is the photographer going before me. I saw him again yesterday and he looked at my stuff beforehand and said my stuff was very "refreshing" to see. So that seems like a pretty good compliment. Hopefully this show will take me to new heights.
March 14th is the tentative "hang day". Which would be absolutely fucking awesome, because that's the same week SXSW starts, when all the yanks come from up North to listen to music and watch movies and buy art. So, I'm extremely looking forward to that.
I'll let everyone know what the official show day is when I know more. |
